Obama Is a Sick Guy! (AKA let's kill the "Administrative State")

I've spent most of the past week trying to wrapp (see what I did there?) my brain around this tweet.

What could it mean? What's the point?

Deconstructing the Administrative State!

I believe several things were at play here.

Fire up the base who hates Obama

This one is a gimme. Let's do our best to convince the birther crowd that Obama truly was the awful person they thought he was. The Antichrist (believe me, I know more than a few people who believe that!). Never mind the current President throwing out an unfounded claim - much like my four year old daughter might throw out against her older brother - Obama was & will always be evil, so let's turn up the volume in the echo chamber to prove that we were right all along.

Diminish the office of the Presidency - and eventually the Federal Government

Those closest to the President have clearly stated their desire to "deconstruct" Washington.

According to Steve Bannon, "This is the main thing that the mainstream media -- or the opposition party -- never caught, is that if you want to see the Trump agenda it's very simple. It was all in the speeches. He went around to those rallies and the speeches had an enormous amount of content in them ... He's laid out an agenda with those speeches with the promises he made and our job every day is to just to execute on that ... he's maniacally focused on that."

Going on to speak about the three "pillars" of Trump's plan, Bannon said:

"The third, broadly, line of work is what is 'deconstruction' of the administrative state."

Many commentators have stated that this tweet was meant as a distraction from other problems. Frankly, that really makes no sense since it only seemed to deepen the intrigue surrounding his ties to Russia.

I think they're smarter than that. I think it's part of a much broader plan to begin "deconstructing" the Federal Government as we've known it since the days of LBJ.
